So… uh… I was working on an EPS conduit here at Subspace Comms and mistakenly crossed the red wire with the green wire. Everyone knows how dangerous that can be, right? Next thing I know, I emerge out of a stasis chamber to find that the guy from The Apprentice is now president, Star Trek is back on TV… well, not on “TV”… and that William Shatner has released a Christmas themed fever dream on the unsuspecting citizens of the internets.

In case you haven't heard, William Shatner's Star Trek TNG Documentary 'Chaos On The Bridge' Debuts Tonight, Monday, Aug. 25, at 9 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada. Hey to all of our Canadian pals...you'll have to let us know how it is!!

As we reported in February, William Shatner was on hand in Dallas to help kick off the Texas Lottery's official Star Trek scratch off game. The Shat helped draw 560 plus Trek fans in costume for a Guinness World Record attempt and drawings for thousands of dollars in prizes.

During the opening number for the 85th Academy Awards, one James Tiberius Kirk sent a message... from the future.  The fate of the Oscars was at stake and host Seth MacFarlane was in dire need of help.  

Are you going to be in Texas in March? Specifically, how about The Dallas Convention Center on Saturday March 30, 2013 from 10am to 1pm? Oh, and will you, by any chance, be wearing your favorite Star Trek costume?  If all of those “ifs” apply to you, you can join The Shat and the Texas Lottery for a Guinness world record attempt for the most people dressed in Star Trek costumes at one event. And did we mention that, whist there, you can enter to win a trip to the Las Vegas Star Trek convention?

If there's one thing I love almost as much as Star Trek (besides The Rockford Files), it's Match Game. It could be any incarnation, 73, 74, 78, PM, it doesn't matter. Just give me a YouTube playlist and lots of Charles Nelson Reilly. I hear he won the Tour de France with two flat tires and a missing chain...but I digress. Recently watching an episode (or six) of Match Game, I got to thinking... Surely there are episodes of Match Game and other game shows chock full o'Trek stars. And, since we live in the future, I was able to fire up the Googles and find several episodes for all you Vulcans and Andorians alike. So, in my best Gene Rayburn, "There are so many Trek stars in these game shows [long pause] that you'll have to [BLANK]." As an added note, even though the title of this article sounds like a question from Jeopardy, this list is Alex Trebek-less. That's on principle... Enjoy.

The "world" tour of William Shatner's one man play Shatner's World: We Just Live In It is coming to our neck of the woods early next year with stops in Galveston, Orange, & San Antonio, January 6th, 7th, and 9th respectively. The Shat will end the Texan leg of his tour on January 10th at the Paramount Theater in Austin. Will we go? We'll see, but we wanted to share the news for any other Austinites that might want to see Sir Billiam on stage.

After a brief break, William "The Shat" Shatner is back as the official spokesman for Priceline. Billed (no pun intended) as The Negotiator, Shatner is seen on a beach holding a surfboard and looking longingly out to sea in the new commercial. "You've been pretty busy for a dead man" says his TV spot co-star, with Bill finally running to the ocean with a quick "Sayonara, bra" shouted at the end.

Just in case you have your head in a hole in the ground, here’s some cool Trek news that’s all over the interwebs. It seems that William Shatner and Wil Wheaton are each narrating a short video for NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover that explains, in layman’s terms, the complex landing sequence in this new and exciting interplanetary mission.
