Tim Russ

Star Trek: Voyager's Tim Russ Answers Questions About His New Project Star Trek: Renegades

By now, many of you have heard of the new Tim Russ helmed Trek project Star Trek: Renegades. If not, it's a brand new film brought to you by the same folks responsible for Star Trek: Of God's and Men that needs your help via Kickstarter. The new project features many Trek alumns including: Tim Russ reprising his role as Tuvok & directing the feature, Garrett Wang, Gary Graham, Ethan Phillips, Robert Picardo, and Life After Trek-kers Manu Intiraymi & Walter Koenig. The story of Renegades takes place several years after Voyager's return home and delves into the dark side of the human psyche, pushing the characters to their limits, and forcing them to carry out actions that they never would have as Starfleet officers

If you're in the Orlando, Florida area on the weekend of February 17th through February 19th, be sure to swing by the Orange County Convention Center for this year's MegaCon. It's shaping up to have a fantastic Trek lineup with Brent Spiner, Tim Russ, & Robert Picardo. We haven't made it down to Orlando for MegaCon, but we've heard good things. It would definitely be a worth while trip to check out. Not only do they have an awesome Trek lineup, but you can also see Stars from Buffy, Stargate, Babylon 5, & much more.

Here's an interesting event that was just brought to our attention by the show organizers. It's is called the Frank & Son Collectable show and on June 11th they will be hosting they're 2nd annual Star Trek Day featuring cast members & guest stars from every Trek series. It's not a convention per se, but more of a chance for fans to get autographs and photo-ops with their favorite stars. Also at the event, the Cinema Makeup School of Los Angeles will be on hand doing Star Trek/ Sci-Fi makeup effects on attendees. Cryptic Studios will be there as well, with PCs setup for you to try out "Star Trek Online", plus free trials of the game for the first 150 people in attendance.

Creation's Star Trek Las Vegas, I mean, Uh, Vegas Khhaaan! Even More Guests Added!

Vegas Khhaaan! is swiftly approaching and we're all on pins and needles to get there already. Personally, we can't wait to get back. With the con coinciding with Star Trek's 45th anniversary, this year is set to be explosive. Besides the panels and the parties there are a bunch of shows lined up to entertain and delight. James Darren (and his band) will be putting on a full Vegas concert, Jeffrey Combs will be performing his one man show "Nevermore...An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe", and Max Grodenchik, Vaughn Armstrong, Jeffrey Combs, Casey Biggs and Armin Shimerman will be performing their always entertaining Rat Pack show. Since our last story about Creation's guest list they've added a ton of additional guests. Be sure to check out Creation's site  for a full guest roster. For now, here's a list of just some of the new guests to get you motivated to come hang out with a galaxy full of Trek fans in the middle of the neon desert.

Star Trek Voyager's Robert Picardo and Tim Russ in…Toupees?

Star Trek Voyager's Robert Picardo and Tim Russ in…Toupees?

Cary Anderson, the writer of “Chad and the Alien Toupee” recently emailed to let us know that his short film contained, not one…but TWO Trek actors. Both Robert Picardo (Voyager) and Tim Russ (Voyager) are featured in this comedy about a suave special agent and his quest to save Earth from the grips of and evil hair piece.

This short film contains plenty of humor, camp and nostalgic movie throw backs. It was released in 2009 and is available to watch here, or embedded below. And, honestly…where else are you going to see Tuvok and The Doctor discuss world annihilation with a living extraterrestrial rug?
