Star Trek: TNG
LeVar Burton's "The Jensen Project" To Air July 16th
LeVar Burton is heading back into the realm of scifi with his new TV movie for NBC called "The Jensen Project". We reported on the "Jensen" announcement back in February and that the movie is actually what you called a "backdoor pilot" for NBC, which could lead into a new series for the TNG alum.
Wil Wheaton Hosting "Eureka" Episode At Comic-Con
San Diego Comic-Con is quickly approaching with enough panels & celebrity meet'n greets to choke an entire silo full of hungry tribbles. Well, it looks like one particular TNG alum will be the host of a showing of his own "Eureka" episode. Internet superstar & boy genius Wesley, uh, I mean Wil Wheaton is set to host the event July 23rd, the same night the episode airs on SyFy. Yeah, we hate the name change too. We caught wind of the event from the big man himself via twitter. Check out the details below from the official "Eureka" Blog.
Summer Glau, A TNG Fan, "Grew Up Idolizing" Marina Sirtis
Summer Glau, "Firefly" & "The Sarah Connor Chronicles", is in Australia for the Supernova series of conventions and was recently interviewed for Scifi Australia where she admitted to being a huge TNG fan.
"...the show I really grew up on was Star Trek: The Next Generation. That was a show that I watched with my parents that I talked them into letting me stay up to watch it. I got to meet Marina Sirtis last year, which was a really special moment for me. I grew up idolizing her." Said Glau, when asked what scifi she would show to a friend to introduce them to the genre.
She also revealed that she would love to meet The Shat. Yeah, who wouldn't?

"It Became A Question Of Where Jean-Luc Ended & I Began" Says Patrick Stewart
We absolutely love how much Patrick Stewart has been in the news lately. With his recent addition to the Vegas Khhaaan! roster it seems the Captain is on a whirlwind tour of the Globe. In fact, he's in Edinburgh, Scotland this week as the jury chairman for the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Not only as a part of the jury, but Patrick was also the focus of an on-stage interview helmed by Alan Morrison, arts editor of the Sunday Herald.
Sir Patrick Stewart Added To Vegas Khhaaan!! Roster
Patrick Stewart has had quite a year. From being knighted to being in almost every Shakespearean production this side of Talos IV, our humble Captain seems to be in his prime. Added to his full year has been his seemingly none stop convention attendance. This is a true treat for Trek fans as Patrick had been absent for many years.
Patrick Stewart Joins The Philadelphia Comic Con Roster
June 11th through the 13th is the date and Philadelphia, PA. apparently is the place for an awesome gathering of Trek stars. Among other stars from various scifi and fantasy genres, you'll get the chance to see three captains (two Starfleet and one Gorn), a father and son duo of omnipotent beings, an android, our favorite Russian navigator, and the son of the Emissary. Just added to the roster is none other than Sir Patrick Stewart. Wizard World is currently working with Sir Patrick to set up one or two panel discussions that should prove enjoyable.
We didn't intentionally plan our list to be a guessing game, but we enjoyed it none-the-less. Check out the full list of Trek stars below.
To Me, TNG Feels Like Home - Jonathan Frakes / Marina Sirtis Interview
Today I received an email from our good buddy Miles, from The SciFi Diner podcast, with a terrific video from youtube (via i09). The video features a good conversation between Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis. For me, the video encompasses the best part of TNG. Past all of the phaser fights and fantastic science fiction, Next Gen feels like home and being with the ones you love.
Youtube Video Round-up: Patrick Stewart Edition
He's discovered new worlds and new civilizations. He's boldly gone where none of us have gone before. He's explored the final frontier. All while having to pull down his uniform and gaining his own named maneuver in the process. That's right, you've guessed it. We're talking about the Captain of the federation flagship. Our dear Captain Jean-Luc Picard. More importantly we're talking about the man who brought him to life. The amazingly talented and versatile actor Sir Patrick Stewart.
