Star Trek: TNG

Sir Patrick Stewart, If You're Nasty

Sir Patrick Stewart, If You're Nasty

Our dear Captain Picard is about to add another distinguished title to his name.  Queen Elizabeth II is set to knight Patrick Stewart for his services to drama (and the universe, duh).  Check out the article excerpt below.

Star Trek favourite Patrick Stewart is to be knighted in the New Year’s Honours list.

The screen and stage legend will receive the gong from the Queen for his services to drama.

Stewart’s award will cap an incredible career that has spanned 50 years of film and theatre.

Palace sources said the Queen is a huge fan of the 69-year-old, who played Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Alexander Rozhenko In Trouble With The Law

Alexander Rozhenko In Trouble With The Law

Brian Bonsall, famous for playing Alexander Rozhenko in TNG and Andy Keaton In Family Ties, was arrested over the weekend on a felony assault charge.  All jokes aside, it's pretty sad when a former child star runs into trouble with drug / alcohol / legal problems.  If convicted Brian could face a good deal of time in jail.  Check out more details in the article excerpt below.

Colorado Daily reports that the 28-year-old is currently facing third-degree assault charges for hitting his friend in the face with a bar stool.  It's not just that, he's actually been wanted by the cops for years.  Brian Bonsall has already skipped a court hearing in July 2008, further damaging his case.

Unaverage Trekkie: How I met Denise Crosby

Unaverage Trekkie: How I met Denise Crosby

By David Kleparek

As I don’t live in LA or Vegas, I don’t have the opportunity of getting into the Star Trek scene.  The number of times I’ve met respectable Star Trek personalities can be counted on one finger. Now I’m not a believer in destiny or fate, but sometimes coincidence is a little too much to ignore.  Such was the case on Friday, December 4th, 2009.

Patrick Stewart Was Deeply Homesick While Playing Captain Picard

Patrick Stewart Was Deeply Homesick While Playing Captain Picard

In a recent interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Patrick Stewart revealed a deep feeling of homesickness even at the heights of international success.

"My marriage was unravelling," he said. "I had been filled for several years with a homesickness that kept me awake at night."

"FOR a long time my way of getting to sleep was to have a virtual walk through my virtual home in England."

Our lovable Captain went on to explain the turning point at which he returned to his roots in Yorkshire, England.

Wil Wheaton Voices Lots O'Romluans In Star Trek XI

Wil Wheaton Voices Lots O'Romluans In Star Trek XI

Our good friend, and counter-culture geek hero, Wil Wheaton recently revealed that he actually did the voice-over work for Nero's crew in Star Trek XI.  It's a pretty interesting turn of events, I guess Leonard Nimoy wasn't the only former Trek actor to make an appearance in J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot.

NASA's New Constellation, Ares I-X Patches Designed By Mike Okuda

Famed Star Trek artist Mike Okuda, responsible for so much of the look and feel of the Next Generation era, has also made quite a name for himself designing patches and insignias for various NASA missions.  His latest work includes patches for the Constellation, Ares I-X, and Orion Missions.

As reported by Cleveland.com, Mike explains "I love the style of military unit or squadron emblems, that wonderful sense of bravado, since that's such a big part of NASA's culture."  Check out the article exerpt below.
