Oh how I've often wished I could simply tap my comm badge and immediately connect to a faraway transporter chief who could instantly beam me out fo any situation.  It seems that part of that dream my soon be a reality. 

It's fitting that Chief of Engineering would speak at a forum dedicated to the advancement of modern technology.  LeVar Burton opened the third day of the Intel Developer forum in San Francisco by reminding attendees to keep dreaming.

In the same article as the Leonard Nimoy interview, Driven Magazine got a chance to talk to Patrick Stewart about his time in the captain's chair. 

Even with his $200 photo-ops, Patrick Stewart was particularly popular at this year's Dragon-Con.  That's probably because he doesn't make the convention rounds as much as other Star Trek actors.  Didn't he retire from Conventions 15 or so years ago?  Anyway...

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, The Art Directors Guild Film Society and American Cinematheque will honor four of the designers who worked on "Star Trek" -- John Jefferies, Joseph R. Jennings, Herman Zimmerman and Scott Chambliss -- at "Star Trek: 45 Years of Designing the Future," on Sept. 27 at the Egyptian Theatre.
