William Shatner, you sir have given us 50+ years of entertainment and we salute you. Let alone, we could have hardly asked for the 44 years of Trek, but your multitude of artistic expressions have been our pleasure to watch over the years. You sir are an actor, director, producer, web mogul, pitchman, equestrian, businessman, author, and the one and only Captain James T. Kirk.

Is This Leonard Nimoy's Last Year On The Convention Circuit

There's been quite a bit of Leonard Nimoy news that last few days, from his adventures to Vulcan to a stop in the Emerald City.  Some of the news seems a little unexpected a down right sad.  According to an interview in The News Tribune, Spock is talking of calling it quits on the convention circuit this year.

Well we're a little late to the game, but apparently Leonard Nimoy and Wil Wheaton are guests at the Emerald City Comic-Con in Seatle this weekend.  If you live in or near Seatle and are just hearing about this (like us) you still have one more day to catch Spock and young Wesley Crusher.

Spock Is Heading To Vulcan... Canada

Leonard Nimoy is heading to a very special place in the Great White North.  It seems that Spock is having a home coming of sorts in the small Alberta town of Vulcan.  March April 23rd is the arrival date and it looks like quite an event is in the works.

According to the Vulcan Advocate, Mr. Nimoy will arrive at 2:30pm on the 23rd Local and officials, including Tom Grant, the mayor of Vulcan, will get a chance to meet him.

Shortly after, starting at around 3 p.m., Nimoy will be part of the parade, which will start at the Tourism and Trek Station and run down to the intersection on Centre Street and Third Avenue.

William "The Shat" Shatner is being honored at the Banff World Television Festival with their lifetime achievement award.  We assume the award is meant to honor his ability to create an adhoc cannon and mortally wound a gorn with it.  The Banff World Television Festival is the world's premiere television content creation event and annual forum for business and creative opportunities for those in television and new media.

Star Trek & Other Stars Remember Andrew Koenig

The mystery of Andrew Koenig's disappearance and untimely passing played out all of the internet these last few weeks.  Many online gathered together to help find and then morn Andrew, including several Trek universe and tv / movie stars.  As reported by MTV News, several stars expressed the sympathies and grief via Twitter when learning the terrible news.

"RIP Andrew Koenig, missing since Valentine's Day, was found dead in Vancouver, Canada," fellow '80s child star Alyssa Milano tweeted. She also urged her followers to help anyone they know with similar issues to Koenig's: "If you know someone suffering from depression, please do everything in your power to get them help. R.I.P. Andrew."

Our Deepest Symapthies To The Koenig Family

Andrew Koenig, son of Walter Koenig and star of several TV appearances (including a long running stint on "Growing Pains" and a guest appearance on DS9) was found dead from an apparent suicide.  Andrew had gone missing in Vacouver, British Columbia on February 16th, sparking a flury of activity on the internet and among Trek fans, who tried to help solve the mystery. 

Andrew's body was discovered around 11:30 am today in the 1,000-acre Stanley Park, a favorite place for Koenig to frequent during his visits to Vancouver.

"My son took his own life," his father, Walter Koenig, said in an emotional news conference in the park.
