It seems the internet has been abuzz with Star Trek XII rumors as of late.  Being the Trekkers we are, we of course are eating it all up.  The latest reported by io9 is that Yeoman Rand could be feature in the next itteration of Star Trek.

In a recent interview with MTV.com J.J. Abrams is open to many ideas for the sequel to 'Star Trek'.  Including William Shatner returning to the franchise or Khan appearing in the next film.

Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci recently talked with MTV.com and discussed the possibilities a new timeline presents for a sequel to 'Star Trek'.

All the characters who existed in the universe or canon we grew up with are essentially still around in some capacity," Kurtzman explained. "But their lives have been altered, so they may again intersect with our crew."
