The iconic Star Trek theme music penned by Alexander Courage is known throughout the world. And, in a small way, may have launched the career of one of the most popular comedians of the past 15 years. Love his movies or hate them, you have to admire Will Ferrell simply for starting his career in comedy by "singing" the theme to TOS. In a recent Youtube video posted by ABC News, Will talks of his early beginnings in the Southern California comedy scene.

Texas Supreme Court Cites Spock From Star Trek II In Recent Filed Opinion

Texas Supreme Court Cites Spock From Star Trek II In Recent Filed Opinion

In a recent opinion on the case Robinson v. Crown Cork and Seal filed by the Texas Supreme Court, our favorite Vulcan was cited. The case was a challenge to the constitutionality of part of House Bill 4 (2003), which retroactively eliminated all pending and future asbestos claims against Crown Cork & Seal Co, as successor to Mundet Cork Corp. The underlying claims were brought by John Robinson and his wife Barbara against Crown and others. Mr. Robinson was a 20-year U.S. Navy veteran who developed mesothelioma following asbestos exposure during his service as a boiler tender.

Texas Supreme court Justice Don R. Willett cited Spock and "Star Trek II: The Wraith of Khan" in the opinion filed October 22nd, 2010:

North Texans Send Star Trek's Captain Kirk Into Stratosphere

North Texans Send Star Trek's Captain Kirk Into Stratosphere

We just received word that on October 17th, two brothers from North Texas launched a weather balloon that passed through the stratosphere while carrying a payload that included a Captain Kirk figure. The project was meant to celebrate the importance of libraries in our communities and the Trek stars that attended the Star Trek Fan Days in Plano, TX. Along with the Captain Kirk action figure, 3 library cards, miniature model of the Enterprise, and Doc Brown action figure, the small foam capsule carried a lightweight camera that documented the entire flight. Check out a link to the video below for some truly astounding photos.

Remember Star Trek: The Experience With The Intergalactic Bartender

We've all pined away for Star Trek: The Experience to make its triumphant return. In fact, just like many of you out there, we hang on every bit of news that comes out of Vegas that might hint at ST:TE's emergence from its long slumber. Sure, we can't sit at Quark's bar and order food and drink, but we can do the next best thing. Make familiar drinks at home in out-of-this-world glassware.
