Star Trek Into Darkness Co-Star Alice Eve Talks About The Script And Her Time On Set

Alice Eve Talks About Her Role In Star Trek Into Darkness

It's going to be a crazy ride to May 17th. All of the press for Star Trek Into Darkness is really starting to ramp up and it's only going to get crazier the closer we get to summer. Trek newcomer Alice Eve recently talked to Digital Spy about her time working on the new J.J. Abrams film and had nothing but praise for her director.

Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer Released With Extneded Japanese Version

Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer Release With Extneded Japanese Version

The first Trailers for Star Trek Into Darkness have hit the web and to us... it looks awesome. I'm still thinking that Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Gary Mitchell, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong. One of our readers posted a few days back that it could also be Garth of Izar. That looks compelling and is a good possibility too. Heck, who knows, it could be Khan. J.J. is a master of subterfuge. ..... KHHHAAAANN! Sorry, had to. Check out both versions of the trailer below including the extended footage Japanese trailer.

New Star Trek Into Darkness Poster And What J.J. Gets Right

New Star Trek: Into Darkness Poster And What J.J. Gets Right

As some of you have probably seen, Paramount just released a brand new poster for Star Trek Into Darkness that features the iconic delta shield seemingly cut out of a destroyed building. I say building, it could be anything. One interesting thing to note, that someone pointed out on the net, is that you can clearly see the London Gherkin in the background. I'm not sure how much the poster tells us about the upcoming film, but it definitely is reminiscent of the poster for The Dark Knight Rises. That's not a bad thing, just not super original.

Gary Mitchell, Anyone? Paramount Releases Star Trek: Into Darkness Synopsis

Remember how I said I didn't like spoilers... oh well. Paramount just released the synopsis for the upcoming J.J. Abrams helmed Trek sequel Star Trek: Into Darkness. From what I've read, it sounds like Benedict Cumberbatch IS NOT playing Landru, NOR The Horta, NOR The Doomsday Machine.  Yeah, yeah, bad grammar... No, in fact it sounds more like Gary Mitchell. You be the judge.

LeVar Burton & JJ Abrams To Speak At Apple's WWDC

LeVar Burton & JJ Abrams To Speak At Apple's WWDC

In what Apple is billing as "Lunchtime Sessions" at its World Wide Developer Conference or WWDC, both Star Trek & Star Trek 2 director JJ Abrams & Star Trek: The Next Generation's LeVar Burton are scheduled to speak. Held at the Moscone West in San Francisco and set to run June 11th to the 15th, WWDC is the premiere event for Apple OSX & iOS developers. Hopefully you've already got your tickets and are set to attend because the conference has been sold out for weeks now. If you are going, be sure to check both of these sessions, they look like they'll satisfy both your inner Apple and Trek fan.

J.J. Abrams Raises "Shields" Around Star Trek 2 Set

J.J. Abrams Raises Sheilds Around Star Trek 2 Set

We all know how secretive J.J. Abrams can be with any film he's directing. As a fan, I can appreciate this. I'm one of the few (it seems) that still likes to be surprised when I drop $47 to see the latest schlop that Hollywood has to offer (I'm not putting J.J's Star Trek in the schlop category). Although, running a Star Trek website and reporting on the most recent Star Trek 2 happenings just adds to the problems, but I digress...

About Leaked Star Trek 2 Pics, Zoe Saldana Says “J.J. was very upset”

We agree with you J.J. We aren’t super happy about it either. Over the years we’ve taken the matter of movie spoilers into our own hands by “tuning-out” when an anticipated title is mentioned. We just don’t read or watch any news about movies we want to remain a surprise. Oh, we hear them mentioned...and feel the thrill of anticipation with each new “avoided story”. But somehow, instead of forgetting about the “avoided” movie, we become more focused on it and are all the more excited when we finally do watch it.

J. J. Abrams Didn’t Want 'Star Trek 2' To Go 3D

J. J. Abrams Didn’t Want “Star Trek 2” To Go 3D

As we’ve mentioned before, we really aren’t fans of the recent trend toward 3D movies. It just seems like the latest gimmick to get people in the theaters, and often times straight up obtrusive. So when we heard the rumors that Star Trek 2 was probably going to be in 3D we weren’t thrilled. However, this new report of J. J. Abrams’s own apprehension and subsequent acceptance has us feeling a wee bit better about the prospect. At least it sounds like the movie may be offered in both 3D and 2D, but no mention if that option will be available in theaters or just on Blu-ray.

"Damon, Bob and Alex.. wrote the most amazing script," Says J.J. About Star Trek 2

So, shooting for Star Trek XII (or Star Trek 2 as the kids on the interwebs are calling it) is set to begin next month. J.J. tells MTV News that the sets are almost complete and that "Damon, Bob and Alex — they wrote the most amazing script, and I'm thrilled to get a chance to direct it. It's totally mine to screw up, so if you don't like it, it's completely on me." We dig J.J's self effacing humor. One thing that were not so keen on is post-production 3D. Everyone has heard that "2" will be 3D, but from what J.J. has mentioned, it won't be shot in 3D.

"We're shooting on film, 2-D, and then we'll do a good high-end conversion like the 'Harry Potter' movie and all that. Luckily, with our release date now we have the months needed to do it right because if you rush it, it never looks good."
