In an interview with MTV news, the cast of 'Star Trek' talks about how they took cues from The Original Series.

'We made this movie from a place of respect and from a place of celebration for what came before,' new Spock Zachary Quinto says.

The Iconfactory released today their last set of icons based on the new 'Star Trek' movie in theaters May 7th. These icons include the tricorder, phaser, communicator, Starfleet delta shield, United Federeation of Planets logo, what looks like a Starfleet Academy ring, and the USS Enterprise. Paramount Pictures partnered with the Iconfactory to release several themed icons and wallpapers over a three week period..

BBC News has posted a series of new photos from the London Premiere of 'Star Trek' held yesterday, April 20th. Included in the series are some candid shots of the cast as well as a few fans that were lucky enough to attend.

The Hollywood Report has posted it's review of the new J.J. Abrams film 'Star Trek' opening on May 7th.

The official Star Trek movie site has posted a Flickr slideshow of photos from the UK premiere of 'Star Trek'.

The photos include the red (well, blue) carpet event and pics of the cast. The slideshow is being updated throughout the day as the event unfolds.

According to WENN (via Yahoo News UK), J.J. Abrams originally approached Matt Damon (The Bourne Trilogy / Good Will Hunting) to take on the role of James T. Kirk, but Damon turned him down.

On May 9th Rod Roddenberry, son of late Gene and Majel Roddenberry, is inviting trekkers everywhere to watch 'Star Trek' at the Avalon Theater on California's Catalina Island.

Rod has planned a special presentation called 'Sharing the Legacy' that will take place right before the screening of the new J.J. Abrams film 'Star Trek'.
