Movies.ign.com has posted it's UK review of the new J.J. Abrams film 'Star Trek'.

IGN UK's Orlando Parfitt reports that 'Star Trek unequivocally succeeds in this aim; the film is fresh, accessible and modern. The film doesn't work however, as a pulsating, dramatic summer action movie.'

As reported on Geeks of Doom, four tracks from the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie 'Star Trek' are available for preview. Offered on Colosseum.de, the song clips include: track 3 'Labor Of Love', track 5 'Enterprising Young Men', track 9 'Does It Still McFly?', and track 15 'End Credits (incl. Theme From Star Trek: TOS)'.

Gizmodo asked it's readers to 'ruin the upcoming Star Trek movie'. With an outpouring of submissions, readers sent in everything from Jar-Jar Binks on the bridge of the enterprise to Worf as the Shamwow Guy. Sifting through the entries they've narrowed it down to 80 and awarded first, second, and third place.

Esurance, the online auto insurance company, is presenting Star Trek Movie Night at AT&T Park on Monday, April 27, when the San Francisco Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at 7:15 p.m. PT. Star Trek Movie Night celebrates the May 8 theatrical release of director J.J. Abrams' upcoming film, "Star Trek." Star Trek Movie Night includes a special ticket offer for fans to participate in Star Trek themed activities, most notably the pre-game Ultimate Trekkie costume contest.

The Iconfactory released today their first set of icons based on the new 'Star Trek' movie, in theaters May 8th. These icons include 3 folder icons themed after branches of Starfleet (Command, Sciences, and Engineering). The last icon is simply a trek folder icon containing the Starfleet Insiginia.

Paramount Pictures partnered with the Iconfactory to release several themed icons and wallpapers over a three week period..

Scifi Wire recently received a flash drive containing a new 'Star Trek' movie image and several desktop wallpapers. The new image is of an infant Spock from the upcoming movie. Also included were desktop wallpapers designed by Zuper Blahq.

According to Screeninglog.com, there will be no need to wait for the midnight showing of 'Star Trek'.

Wooooooo "Star Trek" fans! If you simply can't wait to see J.J. Abrams' sci-fi reboot and midnight screenings just don't work for you for whatever reason, you should know that you'll be able to catch "Star Trek" already at 7 p.m. on May 7th, 2009

As reported on Trekmovie.com, Paramount released a brand new TV spot for the J.J. Abrams film 'Star Trek'. Entitled 'Going Down', the commercial features a mainstream branding approach for the new movie. 

As reported on Hollywood Today, John Cho (Sulu) was concerned that some Japanese-Americans might take issue with the fact that Sulu was being played by a Korean-American as opposed to a Japanese-American.  So, he took the issue to George Takei.
