Today the official soundtrack for the new motion picture 'Star Trek' hits stores.

To celebrate the release, Varese Sarabande Records and Best Buy present a special in-store appearance and autograph event by Michael Giacchino in Los Angeles.  If you're in the L.A. area, the signing starts at 7pm.  Details listed below.

From the opening of Michael Giacchino's score, "Star Trek" reveals itself to be a bombastic musical journey. 

As many of you already know "Star Trek" tells the story of the original crew's beginnings, depicting the coming together of James Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and the other classic heroes of the Starship Enterprise.  And with a 43-year history, "Star Trek" has a lot of reference material- including its music.

As reported on Geeks of Doom, four tracks from the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie 'Star Trek' are available for preview. Offered on Colosseum.de, the song clips include: track 3 'Labor Of Love', track 5 'Enterprising Young Men', track 9 'Does It Still McFly?', and track 15 'End Credits (incl. Theme From Star Trek: TOS)'.
