Starship Farragut: The Animated Episodes just released Act III of their new episode "The Needs of the Many". Written by Michael Struck (Owner, NEO f/x) and Jack Trevino (Writer, DS9), "Needs" has the crew of the Farragut warping to Cestus III on a secret mission for the Federation. If you haven't watched Act I or Act II of "The Needs of the Many" be sure to check them out below. For some reason the Act III currently isn't available for download from the Starship Farragut The Animated Episodes website. We've include embedded versions for all three acts below.

Two of our favorite podcasts just launched two awesome episodes that we think you should check out.  First up, Scott & Miles from The Scifi Diner Podcast server up a fantastic interview with up-and-coming Star Trek author  Richard C. White.  Richard has written Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers #63 "Echoes of Coventry" which is due out later this month.  He also has a short story published as part the "The Sky's the Limit (Star Trek: The Next Generation)" short story collection.  Check out the Podcast synopsis below.

One of our favorite automotive blogs, Jalopnik, compiled a top ten list of favorite automobiles from the Rocketman himself William Shatner.  Apparently The Shat revealed this list over a short period of time through his Twitter account.  The fine folks over at Jalopnik not only gave us the list, but also gave us insight into what each pick reveals about our kindly Captain.

The list includes the obligatory Ferrari Enzo and Dodge Viper, but also includes a few picks that are synonymous with gearheads.  Check out a snipit below to see The Shat favs.

William Shatner Garners New TV Series For Bio Channel

"Aftermath", a brand new series for The Biography Channel set to preview in the fall is also set to launch with a familiar captain, William Shatner.  The show will feature will examine ordinary Americans who became overnight household names such as Jessica Lynch, the D.C. sniper victims and Mary Kay Letourneau and what their lives are like now. Shatner will speak with the personalities and their family members.

The show has been picked up for a six episode season so far and will mark the yet another series for Captain Kirk. "Aftermath" is actually the second show that The Shat has hosted for The Biography Channel. His first being "Shatner's Raw Nerve" which is set for it's third season.

On April 21, 1997, a capsule was launched into orbit aboard a Pegasus XL rocket from near the Canary Islands.  The little spacecraft carried partial remains of Gene Roddenberry and several others into low earth orbit and eventually deteriorated and it disintegrated in the atmosphere.  Then on April 28, 2007, a SpaceLoft XL rocket launched a portion of James Doohan's remains into a four-minute suborbital flight before parachuting to earth.  Both flights were operated by Celestis, a Houston, Texas-based aerospace company and a leader in public participation spaceflight.

Star Trek: Phoenix Fan Series Launches

The long awaited pilot to the fan series, Star Trek: Phoenix launched tonight.  The brain child of Executive Producer Leo Roberts, ST: Phoenix takes place some 40 years after the events in Star Trek: Nemesis and is comprised of more the 150 volunteers throughout the Seatle, Washington area.

The pilot episode, titled "Cloak & Dagger", takes place in 2422, one year into the maiden voyage of the Phoenix  The story begins after a major attack on the Phoenix and the crew attempts to rescue an away team on the remote planet Katassii Prime.  Little do they know, the rescue team will need saving from the secrets the perilous world posses.
