Riverside Iowa has staked the claim several years ago, as the future birth place of our beloved Captain James T. Kirk.  Now they're calling all Trek fans in the general area for volunteer help with The Voyage Home - Riverside History Center.  The center hosts displays featuring historical items relating to Riverside, as well as an entire room dedicated to Star Trek.

"The museum is looking for volunteers and interns who can help staff the museum and use their creativity to build displays", board vice president Phil Richman said.

Not only is H.M.S. Pinafore one of Cmdr. Data's favorite comic operas, now it's being mashed up with Star Trek in a brand new show called USS Pinafore. The show, being Presented by Crown City Theatre Company in North Hollywood, CA., takes Gilbert and Sullivan further than they've ever gone before... to outer space!

Today I received an email from our good buddy Miles, from The SciFi Diner podcast, with a terrific video from youtube (via i09). The video features a good conversation between Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis. For me, the video encompasses the best part of TNG. Past all of the phaser fights and fantastic science fiction, Next Gen feels like home and being with the ones you love.

Rod Roddenberry's Trek Nation is finally approaching terminal velocity.  With a brand new trailer and more momentum behind the several year in the making documentary, the film is finally finished and seeking distribution. 

Just in time for the release of the final act of the first full episode of Starship Farragut: The Animated Episodes.  Scott & Miles, of The SciFi Diner Podcast, sit down with Farragut Executive Producer / Actor (Captain John T. Carter) John Broughton.  They also catch up with Farragut Producer / Actor (Commander Robert "RT" Tacket) Mike Bednar.

While doing our normal web surfing tonight, we came across something that we found pretty interesting.  It appears that Roddenberry Merchandise will be available from the leading online retailer of fandom merchandise, Entertainment Earth.  Slated for a June 2010 release, Roddenberry Merch will be ready for consumption.  The items include everything from a $50 UFP flag to the $5600 TOS Captain's chair and everything in between.

Cryptic Studios launches a brand new Special Task Force mission for admiral ranked players.   Called the "Undine Terradome", the new mission presents all a brand new menace to the STO universe.  Apparently the Undine (species 8472) have planned to invade Federation space by replacing a very familiar space station.  Check out the details below.
