The Fandom Interview Archive: A Treasure Trove Of Trek Star Interviews
We first heard of an interview series called "The Fandom" in the spring of 2005, right around the time "Enterprise" was drawing to a close. Also, during the mad fan rush to save the show and drum up support for a fifth season. Unfortunately that never happened, and Captain Archer and crew sailed off for their final show that year.
The interview series, hosted by Chase Masterson, was a intimate glimpse into the lives of Trek stars and series crew. What was particularly interesting at the time, was hearing the "Enterprise" crew reaction to being canceled as well as their reaction to the unyielding fan support.
Live Star Trek Themed Show Launching At Kennedy Space Center
A brand new live action "Star Trek" themed show is set to launch at Kennedy Space Center this year. Called "Star Trek Live", the 60 minute audience involved show will be based on the new J.J. Abrams "Star Trek" and involve Romulans plus Kirk and Spock. No word on whether it's new footage with Pine, Quinto, & Bana or just cuts from Star Trek XI. Five performances are scheduled daily at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and are included in admission ($38, adults; $28, children 3-11, plus tax. Check out more details below.

Rod Roddenberry's Trek Nation Finished & Seeking Distribution
The long anticipated Star Trek Documentary from Rod Roddenberry is finally finished and awaiting a distribution deal. If you haven't heard of Trek Nation, Rod explains "It's been a journey to discovery who my father is... The man behind the myth". From our understanding, the film has been in the works for almost 10 years. We first heard about it back in 2005 when Rod was a guest on "The Fandom", the short-lived Chase Masterson podcast that featured interviews with various Trek stars and crew.
Check out the a brief Synopsis of "Trek Nation" Below.
Star Trek Online Console Bound? Not Anytime Soon.
Apparently my new thing is asking a question and answering it in the same article title. Well, now that I've addressed it, it won't happen again. Isn't that the first step to recovery? Admitting you have a problem? Anyway, we reported back in October that Cryptic Studios could run ST:O and Champions Online on modern consoles.
Star Trek: The Exhibition's Next Stop? Sacramento.
From it's original incarnation, Star Trek: The Tour, Star Trek: The Exhibition has been all over the U.S. in the 2 years. From Hollywood to Philadelphia and several points in-between, Trek fans have been able to see and enjoy artifacts from all of the series and feature films. Starting May 28th at the Aerospace Museum of California in Sacramento, Trek fans will be able to check out a full scale bridge mock up of the original Enterpise and other various pieces of Trek history.
Here's an idea, a Warp 11 / No Kill I battle of the bands to launch the exhibition. Nothing says Trek and Sacramento like a drunken Mugato or hard drinkin' Lincoln. We would make a special trip to see that.
Quinto Ready To Ask Original Spock To Return & Wil Wheaton Set For Eureka
Zachary Quinto will definitely be in the next iteration of J.J. Abrams's Star Trek. Not that that's news, he does have a contract. But, new Spock admits that it may take some pleading and cajoling to get his original counterpart to sign up for part deux. Quinto tells the New York Daily News, the it took a personal plea from J.J. Abrams to bring Leonard Nimoy out of retirement for Star Trek XI.
At the IFC Film Center premiere for "Breaking Upwards" Quinto remarked "I think I might have to ask him this time".
