The long awaited pilot to the fan series, Star Trek: Phoenix launched tonight.  The brain child of Executive Producer Leo Roberts, ST: Phoenix takes place some 40 years after the events in Star Trek: Nemesis and is comprised of more the 150 volunteers throughout the Seatle, Washington area.

The pilot episode, titled "Cloak & Dagger", takes place in 2422, one year into the maiden voyage of the Phoenix  The story begins after a major attack on the Phoenix and the crew attempts to rescue an away team on the remote planet Katassii Prime.  Little do they know, the rescue team will need saving from the secrets the perilous world posses.

We thoroughly enjoyed the episode and have to say, it's one of the most enjoyable fan films / series we've seen in a long time.  Good story line, good special effects, and great acting.  What more could you ask for in a fan film.  We'll be anxiously awaiting the next installment.  Plus, we totally dig the wormhole transporters.

Watch or download the episode from the ST: Phoenix website here.

Looks like they may have meet bandwidth limit and shutdown all external downloads.  You can still watch the episode on the site via the link above.
