LeVar Burton Set For TV Movie / Pilot For NBC
Rolling around the internet today we saw a tweet from @levarburton announcing his new TV movie deal with NBC. The movie, called "The Jensen Project", is actually what they call a backdoor pilot that could lead into a new series for NBC.
"Jensen" also stars Kellie Martin, Brady Smith, & Patricia Richardson, and revolves around a group holed up in the mountains to solve the world's problems. When one goes rogue, the others are forced to try and stop him. The two hour movie is sponsored by Walmart and Proctor & Gamble in a bid to bring back family friendly TV to the airwaves.
Walter Koenig's Son, Andrew Has Gone Missing. Spread The Word.
Andrew Koenig who played Richard 'Boner' Stabone on "Growing Pains", as well as Tumak on the DS9 episode "Sanctuary", has been missing since February 14th. Andrew, son of TOS star Walter Koenig, was last seen in Vancouver, Canada.
Andrew is "in a depressed state," his father told Entertainment Tonight. Walter said he and his wife Judy had last heard from Andrew, 42, in early February when he was visiting friends in Toronto. He then went to Vancouver where he was last seen February 14. He didn't show up for his February 16 flight back to L.A.
Wil Wheaton To Return As Sheldon's Nemesis In "The Big Bang Theory"
Wil Wheaton has been in the news quite a bit lately, from his fantastic "Memories of the Future" to his Star Trek XI voice over work. Now, young Wesley is returning as an alter ego version of himself (and Sheldon's nemesis) in the CBS hit comedy "TheBig Bang Theory".
Jonathan Frakes Directing A Brand New "V" Episode
Our favorite bearded first officer is busting out his bull horn again and is directing a brand new episode of the scifi series "V". Frakes, who has become quite the director over the years, is set to direct episode 1.06 of the series. The episode is actually in production as we speak. Starting Tuesday the 16th and scheduled to conclude on the 25th, the episode introduces a new character named John May.
Handheld Medical Scanner Is One Step Closer To Real Trek Science
The BBC is reporting on a brand new hand-held ultrasound machine that is now being used by the cardiac investigation unit at St. George's Hospital in South London. Called the Vscan, the small device, similar to a flip phone, can show moving color images of blood flow around the heart and by switching to black and white you can see heart valves opening and closing. Much like the hand-held tricorders in Trekdom, the device gives doctors a portable view into the inner workings of the their patients bodies.

Last week we reported that LeVar Burton made an appearance at the Macworld "Feature Presentation" in San Francisco. Well, Geordi wasn't the only special guest with Star Trek cred. The ever rockin' Warp 11 Spocked out during the Macworld Live presentation on February 12th.
Patrick Stewart's Knighthood is "Beginning to feel... a little more comfortable"
Patrick Stewart, or Sir Patrick if you will, is slowly getting used to his title. "It's beginning to feel, day by day, a little more comfortable." He explains, "But tonight to hear my name linked like that with Sir Ian McKellen was perhaps so far the highlight of this event."
Sir Patrick was in London for the Whatsonstage.com theatre awards where he picked up 2 honors. One for supporting actor as Claudius in "Hamlet and the other he shared with fellow actor and Knight of Relm Sir Ian McKellen for "Waiting For Godot".

The Oscar nominated team responsible for Star Trek's fantastic Vulcans, Romulans, and other creatures consisted of Barney Burman, Mindy Hall, and Joel Harlow. In a recent interview Mindy Hall recalls the task of convincing Zachary Quinto and Eric Bana, among others, to shave their heads and eyebrows.
