Star Trek’s Marina Sirtis & Tony Todd At Houston Comicpalooza May 27-29, Reminder!

So you saw the reminder about Dallas Comic Con,  the other day…now here’s the 2nd part of the Texas convention double-header this May! Next Gen’s very own counselor Troi is going to be meeting, talking with, and signing autographs for Houston area fans at Comicpalooza May 27-29. Hmmm…do you think she’ll be wearing her jumpsuit? Well, even if she’s not, we can’t wait to see her and hear what she has to say. It will be a true treat seeing her for the first time.

Along with Marina, fellow Next Gen alum (…and DS9…and Voyager) Tony Todd will be there too! You probably know him as Kern (Warf’s brother) but did you know that he’s an accomplished stage actor as well? His talent and versatility shine in each new role Tony takes on. If you’re anywhere nearby when it’s Tony’s turn on a panel, DON’T MISS IT!! You totally will not be disappointed!

Also worthy of note are the events scheduled (practically) around the clock. If you think the show stops at 6pm, you’d be wrong! There’s all manner of fun to be had at night. Be sure to check the schedule so you don’t miss out.

Other guests attending Comicpalooza include: Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica), Sean Maher (Firefly/Serenity) AND Peter Mayhew (Star Wars). See the full guest list online here

Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock World Championship at Comicpalooza

Houston, TX – April 4, 2011 – Can’t decide who gets the last slice of pizza? Who rides shotgun? Action movie or chick flick? The quality of your life may depend on your skill at winning these decisions. For untold years the standard of friendly conflict resolution was the kid’s game Rock Paper Scissors, but that has all changed. The method for the 21st century is Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock, invented by Sam Kass and Karen Bryla. The game was brought to the masses in 2008 in an episode of the Big Bang Theory, where Jim Parsons explains the rules.

You can watch Jim Parsons explain the game here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSLeBKT7-sM

Wherever there is a game there must be a world championship, and the world championship for Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock will take place this year at Comicpalooza, the Texas comic and pop culture convention. Qualifiers for the World Championship will be held on Friday and Saturday of the convention, but interested parties may contact the Comicpalooza Programming Director to set up qualifiers at venues in their own cities.

Comicpalooza is known for bringing together a host of industry heavy-hitters, including comic-book creators, artists, actors and more.
