Dan Swenson, of the New Orleans The Times-Picayune, wrote a recent article describing his Star Trek dream crew.  With his first pick for captain being Jean-Luc Picard of TNG.  We found this to be a really interesting read although a little light on the DS9'ers.

Why?

How dare we pick Picard over Kirk, you ask? Well, Picard survived more missions, and did so without trying to hook up with every hot alien he encountered. And ... he ... could form ... sentences and ... commands ... much quicker ... than ... Kirk's .... long ... pauses, making Picard's crew more likely to save the day before it's too late.

Seriously ... Why?

Captain Kirk, we all love you. Dearly. Really. But you have to admire a strong, older man like Picard who accepts his baldness even in future when a cure for baldness is highly probable. And shockingly, Picard turned out to be a ladies man, too. Sorry Kirk, but maybe J.J. Abram's new Star Trek movie will change everything. This entire Dream Crew may have to be thrown out, if this new film, opening May 8, rocks. (source Nola.com)
