<p>Roddenberry Entertainment Launches Big At New York Comic-Con With Two Graphic Novels And A Trek Nation Screening

New York Comic-Con is nearly upon us and Roddenberry Entertainment has a packed schedule for the event. Premiering two new graphic novels and throwing a pizza party for fans during the their panel, The R will be doing The Big Apple right. The Roddenberry Entertainment Panel / pizza party will begin at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Room 1A04. Featuring clips from both Trek Nation and White Room 02B3, the panel will feature producer Trevor Roth to answer fan questions. If that isn't enough Roddenberry Entertainment will be premiering the graphic novel version of its wildly popular Days Missing comic series as well as a brand new novel entitled Worth.

Worth is the heartfelt yet dynamic story of Grant Worth, Motor City’s most iconic hero. During the 1960s, Worth’s ability to control machines made him a legendary figure in Detroit, a real hometown hero. But when Worth’s powers become obsolete because of society’s own progress, he is forced to find out what happens when a superhero can no longer be super.

Scheduled for release in mid 2013, Worth was created by Roddenberry Entertainment C.O.O. Trevor Roth and will be published by Arcana. Worth is written by Aubrey Sitterson with art by Chris Moreno, and is edited by Eisner Award winner Paul Morrissey.

New York Comic-Con runs October 11th through the 14th at the Javits Center in New York City. As an added bonus, attendees can also stop by the Archaia booth (#1520) and chat with Trevor Roth from 4-5 p.m. on Oct. 11 and 12. Be sure to check out the full press release for both, Worth & Day Missing, graphic novels below. You can also check out the Roddenberry Entertainment website for more details.

Woth Press Release

Critically-acclaimed graphic novel series, Days Missing®, which is currently in development for television and film, is a thrilling saga that accounts for extraordinary 24-hour periods of time that have changed the course of humanity’s evolution, but have been erased from human memory by a mystical and ancient being known as The Steward. These “days missing,” recorded in the annals of The Steward’s library, represent a lost human history that explains much more about who we are than we ever knew.

Debuting in 2009, the saga continued in 2011 with Days Missing: Kestus. After being alone for centuries, The Steward forges a tumultuous relationship with an immortal woman born of the big bang. With her ability to recall everything, the totality of time is part of Kestus’ very consciousness, and she has never forgotten the brutality man has inflicted on himself. Eventually, The Steward convinces Kestus that humanity has the potential to transcend their faults and limitations. So when the entire universe begins to vanish, Kestus sacrifices herself inside the Large Hadron Collider, creating a new big bang, which reboots the entire universe. The Steward has lost the only woman he’s ever loved, but his beloved mankind is saved.

The earth-shattering finale to the saga is captured in Days Missing: Enox, which details the anticipated conflict between The Steward and his nemesis, Enox, a malevolent being born of the ill-fated couple with the combined powers of both The Steward and Kestus. Days Missing: Enox forces The Steward to decide between himself and humanity.

Days Missing is a wonderful example of the kind of science fiction Roddenberry stands for—an exploration of the human condition wrapped up in an extraordinary adventure that not only entertains but challenges audiences to think, question and explore,” said Rod Roddenberry. “The depth of its characters and the relevance of its dilemmas provide opportunity for viewers to emotionally involve themselves in the story.”

The Days Missing series was created by Roddenberry Entertainment C.O.O. Trevor Roth. Enox will be published by Arcana in 2012. Days Missing: Enox is written by Phil Hester with art by Jeremy Rock, and edited by Eisner Award winner Paul Morrissey. Volume One was written by Phil Hester, David Hine, Ian Edginton and Matz, with art by Frazer Irving, Chris Burnham, Lee Moder and Hugo Petrus, and edited by Rob Levin. Volume Two was written by Phil Hester, with art by David Marquez, and edited by Paul Morrisey.

Days Missing Volumes One and Two are being co-developed for television and film by Roddenberry Entertainment and Benderspink, an innovative IP, production and management company. The production will mark the first Roddenberry property to find its way to the big screen since J.J. Abrahms’ Star Trek and the first TV show based on a Roddenberry property since Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda and Star Trek: Enterprise. The film will be produced by Benderspink, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. The partnership plans on doing more than simply adapting a comic book story but will use television and film to expand the expand the Days Missing universe.

“We see this as such a strong concept that it could be done as a television show and feature trilogy at the same time,” says JC Spink, Co-Founder of Benderspink. “And, we’re extremely excited to work with Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.”
