Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Director Nicolas Meyer To Attend 30th Anniversary Screening In North Carolina

Star Trek II: The Wraith of Khan Director Nicolas Meyer To Attend 30th Anniversary Scrrening In North Carolina

There's no doubt to us that Star Trek II is the finest of all Trek films. Sure, there can be debate about this subject, but TWOK is by far our favorite. Ricardo Montalban and his amazing mullet rocked the big screen 30 years ago this year, and to celebrate, Director Nicholas Meyer will be attending a special screening at the Modern Film Fest in Kannapolis, North Carolina. As Trek fans you all know that Nick also directed Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and wrote a fantastic book called "The View From the Bridge: Memories of Star Trek and a Life in Hollywood" about his time in Trek and Hollywood as a whole.

Modern Film Fest started in 2009 and is held at the historic Gem Theater in Kannapolis on October 5th through the 7th. The TWOK screening will be held at 8 p.m. on Oct. 5 followed by a Q&A with Nicholas Meyer. You can get more information at the official Modern Film Fest website here.

We also ran across a great interview with Nick on IndependentTribune.com. He talks about his early childhood and his experience making movies at the young age of 12. And, of course, his work on TWOK...

“We were just making the one movie. I didn’t think about franchise, I didn’t think about any of that stuff,” Meyer said. “I had no idea, and I don’t think anybody else did, that we were making some kind of memorable contribution.”
