Experience Vegas Khhaaan! 2012 With Geek Nation Tours

Explore Vegas Khhaaan! 2012 With Geek Nation Tours

One of our favorite things about the annual Creation Entertainment Star Trek Las Vegas Convention (that we loving call Vegas Khhaaan!) is meeting new friends. During this year's Khhaaan!,we had the awesome opportunity to meet and hang out with the fine folks from Geek Nation Tours. What's Geek Nation Tours you ask? It's a tour company dedicated to the geek, and all his or her multifaceted interests. They create holidays for Geeks by Geeks. Oh, and next year? They're planning a special tour for Vegas Khhaaan! 2012. The Geek Nation Tours folks are good people (plus they're fans of Subspace Communique) and we figured, why not spread the word. This is definitely not a paid endorsement, just something that we thought was worth passing along. Get the full details below and be sure to check out GeekNationTours.com. Heck, if you have any questions, you can send along an email here.

Oh, we almost forgot. Need some help convincing your "non-geek" spouse that the trip would be worth taking? Geek Nation Tours has you covered there too. Check out their special page dedicated to just that, called Parallel Universes. What a prefect name, we love it!

Join us to celebrate Star Trek The Next Generation's 25th anniversary as we are off to Las Vegas and the Biggest Star Trek Convention in the World. You are about to visit Las Vegas…City of Fun… with a group of like minded people that want to celebrate what Geeks them out. Excited fans that want to revel in all things Star Trek and explore all things Vegas as well. Meet new friends, come home with a smile on your face and loads of great memories floating in your brain…along with the odd Romulan ale or two.

Day 1 – Tuesday August 7th

Today you are free to enjoy Vegas in all its splendor. If you like, tag around with our representative as after check-in he will be headed off to the “Strip”. If you need to find him later he will always be in touch and will be “checking in” with Facebook Places regularly.

After we do some exploring we will be headed back to the Rio (they have easy shuttle service by the way) for our “Welcome dinner” and our “How to get the best out of your Star Trek Convention” round table discussion. We are in for an informative and fun evening as a Creation Entertainment employee will be there to give us loads of advice and info. It will be great for Newbie and Star Trek Convention Veterans alike. We might even be treated to a surprise guest or two…

Day 2 – Wednesday August 8th

Today we will have several options for an extraordinary all day Las Vegas adventure… You can choose from one of the following:

Area 51: Venture out into the land of the unknown where conspiracies and unexplained phenomena may unfold before you … Some of us will be headed off to Area 51 to explore the locale with private guides. See one of the world’s most top secret military facilities and dive into the secrets that surround the area.

Grand Canyon South Rim: This Grand Canyon National Park Tour takes you to the most famous area of the Grand Canyon where, from the most picturesque viewpoints of all, you can view the widest and deepest portions of the canyon. Included are photo stops at Hoover Dam and more….

Colorado River Raft and Hoover Dam: This journey begins with an incredible (family oriented) 12-mile, rapid free raft trip down through the magnificent canyons of the Colorado River to Willow Beach, Arizona. This wonderful family adventure gently flows from the very base of the Hoover Dam, affording a magnificent view and perspective of the dam available nowhere else. Hoover Dam tour included…

Other options include the Death Valley Tour, Zion Tour and the Valley of Fire – Lost City Museum Tour…But no matter your choice - expect a lot of one-on-one time with the knowledgeable drivers as we will be touring in SUVs to get only the very best of experiences.

Tonight we will pre-register and start to meet all the other Star Trek fans arriving for the Convention. Our representative will lead you through the massive registration process.

Day 3 – 6 Thursday to Sunday August 9th to 12th

You now have four days to completely Geek out! You are on your own to experience the Star Trek convention. There will be a Geek Nation Tours representative, however, to deal with any questions or concerns that you may have. Lost with no one to hang with? Don’t worry - you can always find his exact location with Facebook “Places”.

We will meet each night to regale our experiences, compare who we met and saw, and share other Star Trek convention “war stories”. Past participants agree that our meet-ups are an important part of the convention experience – a time where you can get to know other Geeks and maybe hear a great suggestion or two on what to do the following days. You can join us every night or you can do your own thing. Geek Nation Tours wants you to have the most freedom to “Geek Out” as possible so our meetings will be completely optional and you can come and go as you please. With this said, post con we normally hang out at McFadden's Bar or at the multitude of lounge choices at the Rio. We may even head off to the Las Vegas Strip strip one night - so fun will be had by all.

Sunday night we will be off to Fremont street to see the famous lightshow. Here we can listen to music, watch the crowd, dine, drink, zipline (yes right down the street) or even hit "Insert Coin" the computer gamers lounge.

Geek Nation Tours will offer some additional options throughout the weekend for those that may want to add a bit their trip to Vegas. For instance we can visit the Atomic Testing Museum or if you want a good era theme you can check out the Beatles at the Mirage. Or if you just want to "slip out" of the convention to do some exploring our representative will be there to help.

Day 7 – Monday August 13th

Today we return to the airport and depart for home.
