"Bleep My Dad Says" Launches Tonight At 8:30/7:30c

Tonight, the long awaited release of William Shatner's brand new TV sitcom "$#*! My Dad Says" (spoken as “Bleep My Dad Says”) is upon us all. For those who aren't in the know, amongst The Shat’s many projects has been this new sitcom in which he plays a 72-year-old father who happens to be very outspoken.

CBS describes Shatner’s character, Ed Goodson as “a forthright and opinionated dad who relishes expressing his unsolicited and often wildly politically incorrect observations to anyone within earshot.” You can read CBS’s full synopsis here

The show gets its origins from writer, Justin Halpern’s twitter feed. As the story goes, he began by tweeting the colorful things his dad said as a way to keep a record of the sayings for posterity. Soon after, a friend posted a link to the twitter feed, Rob Corddry then tweeted the link, and finally the Daily Show mentioned it on the air. That publicity quickly garnered the feed followers who now number over 1,700,000. With that much notoriety, he was able to transition his dad’s sayings into a book that went to the best sellers list 5 weeks after its release. From there it didn’t take long to start developing for TV, and with the addition of The Shat ….tadah!…a TV show was born.

"$#*! My Dad Says" premiers tonight on CBS at 8:30/7:30c

Of course we haven’t watched the show yet, be we have watched a couple of clips and found several stills from the set and have one question burning in our brain. What’s the story behind that giant walnut sitting on (and sometimes underneath) the coffee table?
