"I live my life as though I'm in a television show" Says William Shatner

"I live my life as though I'm in a television show" Says William Shatner

Well, maybe we fudged a little with that title... The Shat didn't actually say "I live my life as though I'm in a television show", Denny Crane did. According to a video published on NYTimes.com, Bill was blown away by that statement, adding "What a concept". The new video is the latest addition in the New York times "Screen Test" series, which is an interesting take on The Shat. To us, it seems more "personal". I put personal in quotes because with William Shatner, you never know if you're listening to Bill or Mr. Shatner or even the alter-alter-ego The Shat.

On the more "personal" side, Bill talks about his constant search for a laugh. "I find myself as someone who is valiantly trying to get laughs all the time, missing about half of the time. Which is shameful. I run around humiliated and exonerated about 50% of the time." He continues, "A laugh is as delicate as an orchid. It can be there and then be gone. It's the will-o'-the-wisp."

During the shoot, The Shat even takes a phone call from one of his daughters. In his usually funny manner he looks at his phone and says. "unknown number. Let's find out. Who. This is. Together". Maybe we have a sickness, or maybe a deep fascination, but we could watch Bill talk on the phone for hours. Well, maybe not hours...

Thanks to Commander Torkadon for sending us a link to the video.  You know who you are.
