"Free Enterprise 2" Actually In The Works

"Free Enterprise 2" Actually In The Works

"Free Enterprise 2", the long awaited indie film sequel to it's aptly named prequel is actually getting made.  In the process for 10 years or so now, director Robert Meyer Burnett has been given the go-ahead and it appears William "The Shat" Shatner has confirmed it at Trek Expo 2010.

"Free Enterprise…remember the film? Well we are doing a sequel, Free Enterprise 2. So they have got me involved in some fun stuff. And I will be shooting that in the next month or so." Shatner Said to an extremely excited crowd.

If you haven't seen the original "Free Enterprise", check out the synopsis below.

Sci-fi geeks Mark (Eric McCormack) and Rob (Rafer Weigel) bump into idol William Shatner (played by Shatner himself) in this quirky comedy about two aspiring filmmakers and one odd actor. Nearing 30 and preferring action figures to women, Mark and Rob fret about their juvenile existence. Shatner, bent on staging a one-man musical about Julius Caesar, isn't exactly an inspiration. When Rob finally finds romance, will Mark be left behind? (source Netflix)

By the way, if you do a search for "Free Enterprise" on Netflix, you also get "Free Willy", "Free Willy 2", and "Freejack" an absolutely horrible movie with Emilio Estevez and Mick Jagger, MICK JAGGER!  Anyway, according to SlashFlm, The Shat is not the only Trek alum to join the project...

I’ve also been told by an anonymous tipper that Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, and JJ Abrams have been written into the script. No word on if any of these actors/directors will be in the actual movie playing themselves.  (source Slashfilm.com)
