As reported in Variety, Paramount Pictures has set a release date in Mexico date for the new J.J. Abrams film 'Star Trek'. The original release was postponed due to the Swine Flu outbreak.
Paramount has finally settled on June 5 as its Mexican release date for "Star Trek" in the latest 'flu-driven reshuffle of the summer calendar.
The sci-fi prequel was set to open last weekend as it did Stateside, where it raked in $76.5 million.
"Star Trek" also earned an estimated $35.5 million overseas -- a number that would have almost certainly been a few ticks higher had the A/H1N1 swine 'flu virus not brought Mexico to a halt late last month. (source Variety)
