New Star Trek Wikia Site Launched Today: “Trek Initiative” By Roddenberry

Working with Wikia, Rod Roddenberry has launched a new information portal for all things Star Trek, called Trek Initiative.  Now there’s a place where, with contributors’ help, you’ll be able to find everything related Star Trek…all in one convenient place.

The free site, which launched Thursday, lets fans contribute content, as well as peruse an exclusive collection of scripts, call sheets and digital archives for both the original 1960s series (including pictures of Gene Roddenberry on set) and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Fans have access to a searchable database of Trek info and details on upcoming conventions and shows. Although the Trek Initiative has no direct relation to either Paramount or CBS, which each own parts of the Star Trekfranchise, the site will include licensed content, including archival video and images from the new movie.

We're excited to watch this new site grow, so we can find out about everything Trek related that we've been missing out on all these years.
