In a fit of "this is probably a bad idea, but we're going to spend the money anyway" the Internal Revenue Service created a poorly executed training video that parodies a certain scifi series that starts with the word "Star" and ends with "Trek". CBS News gained access to the video through the Freedom of Information Act after the IRS earlier refused to turn over a copy to the congressional committee that oversees tax issues: House Ways and Means.

Is it terrible? You bet. Did it cost tax payers money to create? Uh-huh, and then some. Do I have a queezy feeling that I might get audited for making fun of this? That too. The video was created along with a Giligan's Island parody to open the 2010 IRS training and leadership conference. Both videos cost a total of $60,000 to make.

To boldly go where no government employee has gone before."

Sheesh.

Also, let's not mix the TOS bridge with TNG unifroms. Mmmm-kay.
