Google’s Search Guru Says The Future Of Search Is More Like Star Trek, Less Like Typing
You may have heard of that little event in our neck of the woods called SXSW. Well, it seems Google Search Chief, Amit Singhal, has a vision for the future of search that he says will be much like the computer from Star Trek.
“You can walk up to a computer and say, hey, computer," Says Singhal.
He goes on the elaborate; "The destiny of search is to become that 'Star Trek' computer and that's what we are building,"
"These are some of the best times in search," He continues. "All the technology is coming together: speak recognition, knowledge graph, natural language understanding - there are new devices coming out, so when you marry all this, tomorrow is looking bright."
First of all, I’m done with saying “Computer”. Let’s just get that straight. Secondly, If Google Now is any indication, it seems that the big G is heading in the right direction. We use both iOS and Android devices and have to say that the voice recognition from Google (originally code named Majel) seems superior. Let the mobile device flame wars begin... Fight!
