We reported earlier this week that Nichelle Nichols would be interviewed on the Tavis Smiley program and now it's available online for streaming. Nichelle was on the show to promote the upcoming PBS "Pioneers of Television" episode, airing January 18th. This new episode focuses on pioneering science fiction, not only featuring Nichelle, but The Shat & Leonard Nimoy to boot.

During the interview, Tavis asked; "You are okay with 'pioneering' status?" Nichelle answered; "Oh gosh, yes. You go in hoping that you get to make your mark and you stay in long enough to become, or be called a pioneer". We love Nichelle. She's such a class act. With her recent birthday, Nichelle turned 78 and she's staying busier than ever. Including her upcoming appearance at the "Women of Scifi" con in Plano, TX.
