CBS Studios Inc. has unveiled the brand new look and experience of the official Star Trek website, Startrek.com.  We we're approached earlier this year to be featured on the "fan sites" portion of the site and gladly accepted.  The new site is described as the end source for all things in the official Trek universe.  To quote the launch press release:  "If you read about something on StarTrek.com, it’s a fact. This is the official Star Trek site and when something runs on StarTrek.com you can rest assured that it’s official, not a rumor. "

The brand new site features discussion boards, facts and figures, synopses and biographies.  There are pictures, thousands of them – of scenes from the shows and movies, of products, and even of you in costume.  The site will preview upcoming licensed products, giving you exclusive glimpses and taking you behind-the-scenes, and also tell you about Star Trek-themed conventions, live shows and touring exhibits heading your way.

To celebrate the launch, Startrek.com features a special message to fans from Leonard Nimoy himself:

For me, it all began over 45 years ago. And with the recent Star Trek film and the new cast -- and now, StarTrek.com -- it begins again!

I couldn't have imagined -- no one could have, really -- that the TV shows we did so long ago would find a new audience today, that the films would continue, and that there would be so many spin-offs.  It seems that the future we depicted way back when is inching closer every day to reality.

To those of you who have been with us for so long, my sincere thanks for your interest.  For those of you who are new to Star Trek, who are discovering it through the recent movie and are about to explore the franchise in its infinite diversity... welcome.  Come aboard and enjoy.
