StarTrekOnline.com has posted several updates over the past few days. Included in the updates is a new installment to the Kobayashi Maru series, a new Meet the Team Post, and a brand new program annouced by Cryptic called the Special Envoy Program.  Check out the details below.

Cryptic Announces Special Envoy Program

The Special Envoy Program awards everyone who’s signed up for our forums (or will sign up before May 22) an exclusive title in-game, once it launches. The title will be exclusive to those of you who’ve become a part of the community this early, and you can opt to display it as you explore the universe in Star Trek Online. Kobayashi Maru Vol. 12

Until now, the Romulans had chosen no sides in this conflict. They had maintained their embassies on Earth and other Federation space, but had given no aid to either side. That made the missive from the Romulans all the more surprising. Starfleet received a transmission from Ambassador H'Daen Jomar, communicating that, due to recent aggressive actions from the Klingons, they would put their dilithium deposits at the disposal of the Federation. They ask for an envoy from the Federation to come to Romulus so they can discuss details of a treaty.  Read the full Article

Meet the Team: Roman Stepanov

What do you do on Star Trek Online?

I'm an art lead for the Environment team. We make all the pretty pictures, and crazy worlds. Basically I work close with our art director to come up with ideas, guidelines for colors and styles for each world we are creating. He’s a very busy man, so there are times when I'm helping our awesome artists with critique and guiding them to take the space to the next level.

How long have you worked in gaming, and what did you do before Star Trek Online?

I’ve been making games since the year 2000. Before Star Trek Online, I worked on Champions Online, which was also a lot of fun and experience. And even before that I worked at Rainbow Studios in Phoenix, AZ. We made many, many off-road racing games. Read the full article
