As reported by Trek Web earlier this week, artist David Messina released some of the interior artwork for the upcoming 'Star Trek: Nero' comic published by IDW.

Detailing the adventures of Nero during the 25 years he waited paitently for Spock, the 4 part comic is set to debut in August. Here's IDW's description of the series: From Star Trek writer/producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and the creative team behind the prequel comic Star Trek: Countdown comes an all-new story set within the events of the film! Not an adaptation, this exclusive story follows the villainous Nero as he seeks to destroy the Federation. An essential chapter in the rebirth of Star Trek!
