Houston Symphony To Play Music From Star Trek
As reported by the Tribune, the Houston Symphony is set to play music from Star Trek (TV series to Star Trek XI) and other sci-fi series / movies on July 9th.
Trekkies will have the opportunity to participate in contests that compliment the performance. There is a “Name That Tune” contest, and a “Sci-Fi TV Pilot Video Contest.” Entry deadlines for both contests are July 1, 2009. For contest information contact Melissa Lopez at Melissa.Lopez@houstonsymphony.org. The night of the concert, attendees dressed as their favorite characters can participate in the Symphony’s costume contest. All entrants must register with the judges’ table prior to being judged between 6:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Music of Star Trek & More-Sci-Fi kicks off the Houston Symphony’s JP Morgan Chase Summer in the City Series.
