Thanks to our good friend Montgomery Scott, we now have a way to keep our whales in the cargo bay.  Well actually, an international team led by Oxford University scientists have found a way to turn normal aluminum into transparent aluminum using frickin' laser beams.

As reported by Computer World, a precursor to the universal translator is in the works. Called the Sakhr Mobile Speech-to-Speech, the software enables a smartphone user to translate from English to Arabic and Arabic to English just by speaking into the phone.
