On May 12th (US) and April 27th (UK), CBS & Paramount are set to release 'Star Trek: Original Motion Picture Collection' on Blu-ray. This new Blu-ray set includes all 6 movies featuring the TOS cast. Included are 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture', 'Star Trek II: The Wraith of Khan', 'Star Trek: The Search for Spock', 'Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home', 'Star Trek V: The Final Frontier',one of our favorites 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country', and a bonus disc called 'Star Trek: The Captains' Summit' (see preview below).

Each movie has been painstakingly remastered in high definition and will be featured in it's original theatrical format. 'Star Trek II: The Wraith of Khan' required extensive restoration to feature in this release - director Nicholas Meyer noting that the original negative "was in terrible shape". (source Memory Alpha) This will also be the first time we see 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture' in it's theatrical cut since released on VHS and 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country' in its original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1.

Included on the bonus disc is 70 minute roundtable discussion chaired by Whoopi Goldberg and featuring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, and Jonathan Frakes. Called the 'Star Trek: The Captains' Summit', We see Shatner, Nimoy, Stewart, Frakes, and Goldberg share candid insights, humorous moments, and intimate details about life on the set, working with each other and how Star Trek has affected their lives.
