Crewman Becky's Thoughts On Automated Doors

Hi Corporeal Beings! Crewman Becky here. Have you ever noticed the seemingly psychic operation of the crew quarters’ doorways? How they seem to know that they should open when someone is heading in their direction to enter or exit the room, but to stay closed when someone is merely passing by. I’m not saying that it’s actually operated by several pairs of unseen hands always on the opposite side of the wall than our viewing angle or anything… but their discernment is (generally) uncanny. How do they know? Really…HOW DO THEY KNOW?! Well, I’m here to tell you that they don’t always.

Crewman Becky's Thoughts On Jumpsuits

Hi corporeal beings! Crewman Becky here. Have you ever noticed that the universe has been nearly completely taken over by jumpsuits? I don’t know about you, but I’m not really a big fan. Really, why are we wearing these polyester nightmares? Is it because “everybody else” is? Besides the obvious unflattering nature of the typical jumpsuit, they really are rather impractical.

Crewman Becky's Thoughts On The Universal Translator

Hi corporeal beings! Crewman Becky here. Have you ever noticed how the universal translator seems to know (on its own) when the speaker wants the listener(s) to hear what they are saying in the speaker’s original language? I’ve been using this thing my whole life and then the other day it dawns on me, “hey wait a minute, why isn’t Qapla’ translated into English for me?” I mean really, it’s totally a translatable word, but for some reason I still hear it as Qapla’.
