Star Trek After Turkey. Starbase Indy Convention Is This Weekend!

If you're in the Indianapolis area and celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday but still have a bunch of days off after that, you can now fill that time with Star Trek! It's time again for Starbase Indy!

That's right, one of the best independently run Star Trek conventions around, Starbase Indy, just happens to be going on this weekend; November 28th - 30th 2014. We're not biased, we swear...it's just that we've attended one of their conventions a few years back and it was a fabulous time. Because this convention is not a "mega-convention" you get less wait time for panels and events, tons of after hours parties and fun, close up seating to panels, and much closer access to the guests overall, which ultimately turns it into an awesomely memorable experience!

Hey Kids, looks like there's a Groupon deal that allows you to buy a single day pass to Creation Entertainment's Star Trek Las Vegas Convention at half off. You have the choice of any of the four days starting Thursday, August 8th for $17.50. Friday is also $17.50 with Saturday and Sunday for $20 each. The downside is that you can only get one day at the discounted rate. You have the option of buying two additional days as gifts. If you're going for just one day or you have a group of 4 buddies that can buy each other "gift" days, it could be a good deal (that may or may not work...your mileage may vary).

One of our favorite fan run conventions is close at hand... Starbase Indy, in Indianapolis, is launching it's 17th mission over Thanksgiving weekend. Not only will you be able to see J.G. Hertzler and Robert O'Reilly as Martok & Gowron, but Nicole de Boer (Ezri Dax) will also be on hand. Not to mention our good friend Larry Nemecek and artist David Reddick will also be in attendance. We had the pleasure of covering Starbase Indy in 2010 and had an absolute blast meeting new friends and getting to hang out with Life After Trekker Manu Intiraymi.

That’s right kids, Creation Entertainment’s Grand Slam: The Star Trek & Sci-Fi Summit XVIII, comes to Burbank, California on February 15-17, 2013. This con has a great set of celebs already lined up with more promised to be added as the event approaches. There will even be a Saturday night reunion event of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast featuring; Sir Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden and Marina Sirtis.

Roddenberry Entertainment Launches Big At New York Comic-Con With Two Graphic Novels And Special Panel

New York Comic-Con is nearly upon us and Roddenberry Entertainment has a packed schedule for the event. Premiering two new graphic novels and throwing a pizza party for fans during the their panel, The R will be doing The Big Apple right. The Roddenberry Entertainment Panel / pizza party will begin at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Room 1A04. Featuring clips from both Trek Nation and White Room 02B3, the panel will feature producer Trevor Roth to answer fan questions. If that isn't enough Roddenberry Entertainment will be premiering the graphic novel version of its wildly popular Days Missing comic series as well as a brand new novel entitled Worth.

Actually, do Klingons ever party? I suppose revelry and astonishing tales around a bonfire count…as long as blood wine is involved. Speaking of partying Klingons, two of the most raucous will be appearing this weekend at BayouCon in Lake Charles, Louisiana. JG Hertzler (Martok) and Robert O’Reilly (Gowron) will be speaking on panels, signing autographs, posing for photos and mingling with guests at the Klingon Breakfast. Oh, and did we mention that they will be appearing in full Klingon costume during some of the convention? How could it not be awesome?!

It's that time of year again where the Grandaddy of all Star Trek conventions quickly approaches. The place where everyone knows your name... not cheers... Vegas Khhaaann! Actually, Creation Entertainment's Official STAR TREK Convention, Las Vegas. The one place on earth where you can hang with all of your Trek friends and family, see four out of the five Trek captains, and play Trek slot machines. Not only will William Shatner, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, & Scott Bakula be in attendance, but over 70 Star Trek celebrities will beam in for the four full days of awesomeness. As many of you know and probably attended, the Guiness Book of World Records certified that the record for having the most people in Star Trek costumes in one place was broken during last years Vegas Khhaaan! 1040 of you gathered and smashed the previous record. This year, Creation Entertainment is setting a time & place to break the record yet again.
