Wil Wheaton & Brent Spiner On "Big Bang Theory" October 13th

We have to admit that we're big fans of CBS's hit comedy The Big Bang Theory. What makes the show that much more awesome (how else can you describe it?), is the regular occurrence of Star Trek guest stars. I mean, who doesn't love to the see the likes of Wil Wheaton, George Takei, & LeVar Burton on the small screen. Now we can add Brent Spiner to that list. Brent will be appearing along with Sheldon's nemesis "Evil" Wil Wheaton on October 13th.

The Emerald City Comicon is upon us once again and is providing Seattle with a heavy dose of Trek, Geek, & Comic goodness. This year's roster is proving to be a full one with the likes of The Shat, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, & Wil Wheaton. Not that those are the only guests scheduled, but we know Trek fans like the good news up front.  Just as a quick note, Shatner will be there Sunday only, with Frakes & Spiner all three days, & Wil Wheaton's alter ego on Friday & Saturday. Ya see, he's sporting a beard now, so he must be from the mirror universe. Check out below for the full list of media guests and event time & place.

Jonathan Frakes & Wil Wheaton Return To The Small Screen Plus More Star Trek Actor News

Jonathan Frakes & Wil Wheaton Return To The Small Screen Plus More Trek Star News.

First off, if you're reading this right after it hits the web and you live in the Mountain or Pacific time zones, you still have time to catch it. Tonight at 9pm, wonder boy and nerd impresario Wil Wheaton will be returning to TNT's hit show "Leverage". So, run, set your DVR and then come back and read the rest of the article. We set? Good. Wil's not the only TNG alumni to be returning to the small screen. Number One, or Jonathan Frakes as some folks call him, will be guest starring on "NCIS: Los Angeles" this Tuesday (December 14th) at 9/8central. As many of you know, Jonathan Frakes has been behind the camera for several years with only the sporadic appearance in the limelight. Keep an eye out for him as Navy Commander Dr. Stanfill. Unfortunately there's no news on how large the role will be or if Frakes will see much screen time, but if you miss the airing, you can always catch it streaming on CBS.com.

Star Trek Stars Help The Fight Against Breast Cancer With Project Teddy Bear

Star Trek Stars Fight Breast Cancer With Project Teddy

Today we stumbled upon a great reason to bid on and buy your favorite Star Trek actor’s autograph and photo…to help cure breast cancer via Project Teddy Bear.

Project Teddy Bear was started by Lisa Spodak in 2004 as a way to raise money for her third Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. On her website she says, “I’d wait outside theaters, talk shows or other events for celebrities and explain to them that I was doing the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and trying to raise $10,000. I’d ask them to sign a little tag that said “Thank You for Your Donation to The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer” and to pose for a picture with the stuffed Avon Breast Cancer Crusade bear. Then I’d post all the pictures on the web and conduct an online auction. Voila! The almost $4,000 that I raised with Project Teddy Bear helped me raise a total of $15,000!” Read the full story here.  Since then she has risen over $150,000 for The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and is still going.

Wil Wheaton Hosting "Eureka" Episode At Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is quickly approaching with enough panels & celebrity meet'n greets to choke an entire silo full of hungry tribbles.  Well, it looks like one particular TNG alum will be the host of a showing of his own "Eureka" episode.  Internet superstar & boy genius Wesley, uh, I mean Wil Wheaton is set to host the event July 23rd, the same night the episode airs on SyFy.  Yeah, we hate the name change too.  We caught wind of the event from the big man himself via twitter.  Check out the details below from the official "Eureka" Blog.

Quinto Ready To Ask Original Spock To Return & Wil Wheaton Set For Eureka

Zachary Quinto will definitely be in the next iteration of J.J. Abrams's Star Trek. Not that that's news, he does have a contract.  But, new Spock admits that it may take some pleading and cajoling to get his original counterpart to sign up for part deux.  Quinto tells the New York Daily News, the it took a personal plea from J.J. Abrams to bring Leonard Nimoy out of retirement for Star Trek XI.

At the IFC Film Center premiere for "Breaking Upwards" Quinto remarked "I think I might have to ask him this time".

Wil Wheaton In Top Ten Celebrity Gamer List

Wil Wheaton In Top Ten Celebrity Gamer List

Wil Wheaton has some serious geek cred.  He, of course, was the young Wesley Crusher on TNG.  He's also been in other "geek" loved movies including "Stand By Me" & "Toy Soldiers".  Well maybe that last one isn't loved, but nowadays he's built an empire of "geekdom" from the several books he's written ("Just a Geek", "Dancing Barefoot", "Memories of the Future") to starring in the extremely popular web series "The Guild".  Heck, he's even occasionally on "The Big Bang Theory".  Oh, and his ever popular blog.
