Star Trek Online has had a flurry of activity surrounding it lately. It's all due to the upcoming beta, plus the convention circuit Cryptic has been touring as of late.

The Penny Arcade Expo wrapped up earlier this week in Seatle and Cryptic Studios had a big presence at the show this year featuring our favorite upcoming MMO Star Trek Online.

If you missed it (like we did, Duh!) then you're as excited as we are about all the online coverage. Here a few samples of some of the things we missed while leading a hum-drum existence. We like to call this the PAX 2009 Star Trek Online stuff extravaganza! Dun-da-da-daaaaaah!!

A brand new installment of the 'Path to 2409' was just released on StarTrekOnline.com.  This time, we read an excerpt from a classified report from Lieutenant Mark Fischer, Federation Operative placed with the troops of the exiled Romulan Commander Sela.  

As we approach the end of the year more and more updates will be emerging for Star Trek Online.   We can't wait to get our hands on the closed beta much less the actual game.  From all that we've seen it's really shaping up to be an excellent addition to the Star Trek Universe.

Are we the only ones that got excited when info for the new Vigilant class starship was released for ST:O?  After reading that super long sentence your probably thinking...  uhhh...  I mean, no?

Cryptic Studios saw it fit to release a new screenshot, for the forthcoming Star Trek Online, featuring what looks like a UFP starship in borg infested space..  Like many other Trek fans, we are really anxious to get our hands on the game.  So, we literally eat up ever little release of info, screenshot or otherwise.

Cryptic Studios held a press conference demo for Star Trek Online at GameCon 2009. During the demo, it was revealed that the Borg have indeed returned to the Alpha Quadrant and no matter what species you choose to play, you will either be in Starfleet or the Klingon Defense Force. Now, whether or not that last statement is true or just a slip of the tongue, is to be seen. Keep reading; we delve further into the confusion.
