The SciFi Diner Podcast

Miles McLoughlin Reports: Shore Leave 33

Hello Subspace Communique readers. It’ s hard to believe that my friend and cohost Scott of the Sci Fi Diner Podcast and I were at the Shoreleave convention. For those of you that have never heard of Shoreleave, it’s a fan run convention held near Baltimore MD. Usually sometime in July.

Larry Nemecek Interviews Star Trek DS9's Cirroc Lofton; Plus Larry On The SciFi Diner Podcast

Larry Nemecek Interviews Star Trek DS9's Cirroc Lofton Plus Larry On The SciFi Diner Podcast

This week Larry Nemecek (or as we like to call him; Amazing Larry) posted a brand new video interview with Star Trek: DS9's Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko). Larry got the chance to sit down with Cirroc, at last year's Hollywood Xpo, and discuss what the younger Sisko has been up to since leaving the promenade. Apparently Cirroc has become a restaurateur and operates a small cafe aptly named "Cafe Cirroc" in Culver City, CA. Check an excerpt below.

And the honor of standing first in line in the backlog of videos waiting to be seen is none other than Cirroc "Jake Sisko" Lofton. He's no stranger to cons, but hardly over-exposed, either. So it was that we had a blast catching up at the heavily-guested but lightly-attended Hollywood Xpo last fall.

Most of all, check out the info on his latest project these days, Cafe Cirroc. I'll let him tell you the details, but for local SoCal-ers here's an update on special events at his community-oriented Italian fare eatery:

Star Trek IV's Catherine Hicks On This Week's Scifi Diner Podcast

Star Trek IV's Catherine Hicks On This Week's Scifi Diner Podcast

Our good friends over at the SciFi Diner Podcast have just launched their latest episode including an interview with Catherine Hicks. Many of you know Catherine from her role as Dr. Gillian Taylor in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home or her role as Annie Camden on the long running "7th Heaven". She's also starred in over 45 feature films & television series. Scott & Miles had the chance to sit down with Catherine at this year's Shore Leave convention and ask about her long career in acting as well as her time on Star Trek IV. Check out an excerpt from episode show notes below.

Star Trek Podcast Rollcall - The Scifi Diner Podcast, Trekfleets, & Trekcast

Star Trek Podcast Rollcall - The Scifi Diner Podcast, Trekfleets, & Trekcast

We've been a little lackluster lately (wow, alliteration) in our coverage of our favorite podcasts. We're still avid fans of Trekcast, The Scifi Diner, & Trekfleets, so we decided to publish another of our Star Trek Podcast Rollcalls to catch you up on what we've missed. First up tonight, Trekcast is back with another "Best of Trek" episode. This time, David takes the plunge into a Voyager episode. Scandalous!

Star Trek Podcast Rollcall - Geek Fights & The SciFi Diner Podcast

Star Trek Podcast Rollcall - Geek Fights & The SciFi Diner Podcast

Two of our favorite Trek / scifi related podcasts have just launched new episodes that are totally worth a listen.  If you're not already subscribed, you should be.... was that too forceful?  Anyway, Geek Fights, hosted by our good friend Damon Shaw & a cast of thousands (well, maybe not thousands), plus our other good buddies Scott & Miles from the SciFi Diner Podcast.

First up is the brand new episode of Geek Fights - The Greatest SciFi Show of All Time.

Miles McLoughlin Reports: Shore Leave 32

Miles McLoughlin Reports: Shore Leave 32

I would ask the readers for their forgiveness in getting this back so late. I’m working again and had to go away for some training. However, I’m now able to give a report on my experience at the Shore Leave 32 convention. If any of you have the DVD of “Trekkies 2” (2004), you can see a short presentation where Shore Leave takes place. And it’s still at the same hotel today. .

If you plan on going next year, Shore Leave is held at the Hotel Marriot in Hunt Valley, MD. Hunt Valley is minutes away from Baltimore. .

The Scifi Diner Podcast Interview With Chase Masterson & Yours Truly

The Scifi Diner Podcast Interview With Chase Masterson & Yours Truly

As you know, the Scifi Diner Podcast is one of our favorites.  Scott & Miles have become true friends of our site and were gracious enough to invite me to sit in on their most recent interview.  Chase Masterson, a Trek fan favorite, stopped by the diner to talk about her time spent on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", her singing career & charity work, plus her new movie "Yesterday Was A Lie".  "Yesterday" was not only a great co-starring role for Chase, but she also wore the producer hat on the film.

Check out a brief synopsis for "Yesterday Was A Lie":

Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore Return To The Scifi Diner Podcast

Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore Return To The Scifi Diner Podcast

One of our favorite podcasts just released their latest episode with awesome Trek author duo Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore.  The Scifi Diner Podcast with hosts Scott & Miles have put together another great episode featuring all the latest scifi news plus listener email & trivia.  Always lots of fun, Dayton & Kevin talk about the upcoming Shoreleave 32 & bacon flavored gum.  What's not to love.

New SciFi Diner Podcast Episode W/ Leo Roberts Of Star Trek: Phoenix & Yours Truly

http://www.subspacecommunique.com/sites/default/files/0610-general/sto.jpg

A brand new SciFi Diner Podcast episode has just rocketed around the Sun and landed here, in our time and space.  Scott & Miles welcome Leo Roberts, founder of Temporal Studios and writer of the new Fan Series Star Trek Phoenix.  The SciFi Diner is one of those podcasts that you just can't wait for the episode release each week.  It's definitely one of our favorites and I had the privileged of joining Scott & Miles this week to trip the light fantastic (maybe I had to much caffeine, it's like I'm getting all poetical in this post).

Be sure to check out the show, if you haven't already.
